The Great Turkey Give

Inspired by the generosity of Honest Ed's this is the event's seventh year The Great Turkey Give will take place just a few blocks north of where the original Turkey Give had taken place.

Previous Turkey Gives were great successes engaging with hundreds of people and spreading the spirit of the season. This year is expected to be even bigger. The food is free of charge (go to www.thegreatturkeygive.com for more info)

Helping to distribute the Turkey's will be~Santa himself and Toronto City councilors and a number of other local celebrities and political figures.

We dedicate the Turkey Give to Ted Winick who passed away and was co-founder of the Turkey Give with Elden Freeman.

Palmerston Community Daycare is a top quality care provider for kids aged 2.5 - 10. This non-profit organization has been in business since 1980 and dedicated to letting children express their individuality while learning social and emotional skills. Givins/Shaw Junior Public School is an inner-city school that values the environment, community, and arts-based learning activities. Over the last ten years, as the community around the small school has grown, community and parent involvement with the school has grown as well. They host regular and engaging activities for students, parents, and members of the community. Their K - 6 facility is located in the western part of downtown in Toronto.

PORCH VIEW DANCES

Porch View Dances is a community dance festival hosted in the Seaton Village/Annex area of Toronto with the hopes of bridging the gap between dance art and the public. The festival offers professional dancers and non-dancers an opportunity to show their skills by dancing in their front yards as guides take them from house to house. This event also allows participants to be a part of free dance workshops, see short dance films, and discover their community through a new light. This event is hosted by Kaeja d’Dance, a non-profit organization dedicated to the art of contemporary dance.


ST. ALBAN'S BOYS' AND GIRLS' CLUB

The St.Alban’s Boys’ and Girls’ Club is dedicated to providing access to structured, enriching recreational and social programs for youth. This after school program was founded in 1949 and servers of 2000 members per year. They teach teens leadership, respect, and teamwork through their approach to the program as well as their community involvement.
