        HOMEBUYERS

More and more, people buying older homes retain the invaluable  services of a professional home inspector.  Purchasing a home is usually the largest investment a person makes, therefore it is vital to ensure that the house is structurally and mechanically sound.  When making an offer to purchase, include a clause making it conditional upon a satisfactory report from a professional home inspector.

Our inspectors prefer that you accompany them on the inspection.  During the inspection, maintenance requirements of the house are discussed.  Energy conservation and homes improvement tips are also provided to you.  A written report is completed immediately following the inspection itemizing our conclusions and recommendations.

Appointments can be made 12 hours a day, every day.  Baker Street Home Inspection Services will remain available to you to discuss any aspect of the inspection report for one year.

Here are some questions home buyers should ask about the house they intend to purchase:

o       What is the state of the roof shinglepes the chimney need repair?

o       Are there any serious repairs to do to the windows or doors?

o       Is the house structurally sound?

o       What is the capacity of the main electrical service?

o       Is there any aluminum wiring in the house?

o       What is the state of the furnace?

o       Is the chimney flue metal lined if gas heat is used?

o       How is the water pressure to all plumbing fixtures?

o       Do all exhaust fans work properly?

o       Is there any evidence of Urea Formaldehyde Foam Insulation?

o       Is there any sign of water leaking in the basement?
